The Trijicon SRO 5 MOA is an open-emitter pistol reflex sight designed for rapid target acquisition and fast-paced shooting. Its large viewing window, bold 5 MOA red dot, forged 7075-T6 aluminum housing, and RMR footprint make it an excellent choice for competition, practical shooting disciplines, and other applications where speed is the priority.
SRO stands for Specialized Reflex Optic. Compared to the Trijicon RMR, the SRO features a significantly larger, rounded viewing window that makes the dot easier to acquire during the draw, track through recoil, and pick up again during rapid target transitions. The expanded field of view helps shooters maintain visual awareness while keeping the dot in sight throughout the firing sequence.
The 5 MOA red dot is optimized for speed. Its larger size makes it easier to acquire than a finer dot, making it particularly well suited for dynamic shooting, close- to medium-range engagements, and rapid follow-up shots. While a smaller dot may offer greater precision on distant or smaller targets, the 5 MOA version prioritizes fast target acquisition without compromising practical accuracy.
The SRO uses the industry-standard Trijicon RMR footprint, making it compatible with a wide range of optics-ready slides, mounting plates, and adapters designed for the RMR pattern. Because the SRO's viewing window extends farther forward than an RMR, compatibility with certain holsters should be verified before use.
The sight is powered by a single CR2032 battery that can be replaced from the top without removing the optic from the slide. This simplifies maintenance and helps preserve the existing zero after battery replacement. Depending on the selected brightness setting and operating conditions, battery life is measured in years.
The SRO offers both automatic and manual brightness adjustment with eight brightness settings, including two night vision-compatible settings and one dedicated super-bright setting for use in bright daylight. Windage and elevation adjustments provide 1 MOA click values with a total adjustment range of 150 MOA, allowing precise zeroing for different firearms and shooting distances.
The optic features a forged 7075-T6 aluminum housing with a durable black finish. It measures approximately 56 × 33 × 36 mm, weighs approximately 45 g, and is waterproof to 3 m. The robust construction is designed to withstand the repeated cycling forces of slide-mounted pistol use.
Introduced as a complement to the Trijicon RMR, the SRO prioritizes rapid target acquisition and improved sight tracking while retaining the proven RMR mounting footprint. Its larger viewing window and bold 5 MOA dot make it particularly well suited for competitive shooting disciplines that emphasize speed.
