The Marlin Model 1894 Classic rifle, manufactured by Ruger, is chambered in .44 Rem Mag caliber. The forend and straight stock are made of American black walnut, giving the firearm a unique aesthetic touch. Both the stock and forend feature a pronounced checkering where gripped, enhancing the aesthetic and functional look of the rifle. A Bullseye symbol is embedded in the lower part of the stock.
Enhanced manufacturing processes with minimal tolerances have led to the rebirth of a reliable and attractive rifle. The manufacturing processes are overseen with multi-layered quality checks, including daily audits of individual parts of the firearm as well as complete functional units. These processes result in superior product quality.
While initially highly popular during the settlement of the American west, the popularity of lever-action rifles gradually declined. They returned to prominence, at least in the USA, in 1969 when the western TV series "Gunsmoke" and "Bonanza" appeared on screens. The Marlin company responded to the demand and reintroduced the M1894 model in an updated and more accessible .44 Special/Magnum caliber. Another change was the shortening of the firearm and the modification of the barrel profile.
The receiver with a side-loading window and the lever are made from forged alloy steel, machined using CNC. The tubular magazine holds 10 rounds of .44 Rem Mag or 11 rounds of .44 Special.
The 20-inch barrel with a round profile is cold-forged from alloy steel and is equipped with a front sight and an adjustable Semi-Buckhorn rear sight. The top of the receiver is threaded for the potential installation of optical device mounts.
