The Marlin 1895 TRAPPER bolt-action rifle is built on the same foundation as Marlin's first rifle under Ruger's wing, the 1895 SBL model. However, it features a shorter 16" barrel, which is easier to maneuver, and additionally boasts a matte stainless finish that reduces glare in the field. The sights are also different.
The American bolt-action rifle 1895 TRAPPER from Marlin is crafted with attention to detail. As a result, you can expect the same traditional and proven design as the original 1895 and simultaneously the precise and proven quality and durability of the manufacturer Sturm, Ruger & Company.
This rifle is both reliable and visually attractive due to enhanced manufacturing processes with multilayer quality control outputs. Regular checks of function and accuracy are conducted on individual pieces.
An adjustable Skinner Sights scope is mounted on the receiver, ideal for easy and quick target acquisition. At the front of the barrel is a front sight. Both beautifully harmonize with the weapon’s matte stainless finish.
An improved stock and fore-end surface finish and checkered pattern panels ensure a secure and firm grip of the gun under all conditions. The aesthetic and ergonomic aspects are further enhanced by the refined shape of the stock and the thinner profile of the fore-end. The design is complemented by a spirally fluted, nickel-plated bolt, which aids in smooth cycling.
The cold-forged barrel is factory-equipped with a polished thread protector, suitable for the installation of a muzzle brake or other barrel accessories thanks to the 11/16"-24 pattern. Cold forging results in more precise rifling, contributing to high accuracy and shooting reliability.
Compared to the original Marlin 1895, some details of this rifle differ, such as the engraved place of manufacture “Mayodan, NC,” a new RP mark stamped on the left side of the rifle, a serial number starting with the letters RM, a laser-engraved Marlin Horse and Rider logo on the grip, or the red and white Marlin bullseye on the stock – it was black and white in the original version.
