This model of repeating rifle was previously known as the 1895 GBL, or Guide Big Loop. It is the first gun from the Guide Gun family of rifles, which was reintroduced by Ruger after acquiring the Marlin brand, and the first Marlin rifle under Ruger's wings made from alloy steel with a blued finish.
Every Marlin rifle is not only made using improved manufacturing processes but also features multi-layered quality control procedures, including regular audits of function and accuracy along with multiple inspections.
The stock and forearm of the Marlin 1895 GUIDE GUN are made from laminate. As with all other rifles in the 1895 series, excellent ergonomics and a checkered pattern for a sure and firm grip are evident at first glance. The material and finish ensure the stability of the weapon under various weather conditions. The soft rubber buttpad on the stock effectively dampens recoil.
The barrel of the rifle is cold hammer-forged from alloy steel and features a thread of 11/16"-24 for mounting a muzzle brake or other compatible accessories. Cold hammer forging ensures extremely precise rifling for high accuracy and reliability in shooting.
The surface of the metal parts of the rifle has been bead blasted with glass beads for a matte, satin finish without reflections. The satin blue of the steel components also looks great and original. The nickel-plated bolt aids in smooth cycling.
The control options are expanded by an enlarged loop lever, which allows the weapon to be operated even with gloves on. The six-round tube magazine with a loading gate located on the receiver is easy to load. Safety is enhanced by a positive, button-activated, cross-bolt manual safety. Lastly, adjustable semi-buckhorn sights are mentioned for quick targeting.
