Bollé Safety^® Europe builds on more than a century of expertise in eyewear manufacturing. The company was founded in 1888 in Oyonnax, France. While it originally specialized in combs and hair accessories made from horn, it began producing sunglasses and eyewear frames in 1936, later expanding into advanced materials such as celluloid and Rhodoid.

After World War II, Bollé^® became a pioneer in molded nylon eyewear that met the strict quality standards of the time. Protective glasses and masks were introduced in 1950, followed by the company’s first specialized ski goggles in 1960. Over the years, Bollé^® also collaborated with the French army, navy, and air force to develop high-performance protective eyewear.
