Helikon-Tex® Chinook Waterproof Jacket

The Chinook jacket by Helikon-Tex^® is a lightweight 2.5-layer waterproof shell designed for field use, shooting range activities, and everyday movement in adverse weather. It provides reliable protection against rain and wind while maintaining breathability and freedom of movement. Thanks to its low weight and compact pack size, it is easy to carry as a backup layer whenever conditions may change.

2.5-Layer Waterproof Membrane

The jacket uses a 2.5-layer laminate construction consisting of a durable outer fabric and a microporous membrane. The membrane prevents water penetration while allowing moisture vapor to escape from the inside. A protective inner print replaces a traditional lining, reducing weight and improving packability and drying speed.

High-Level Weather Protection

The Chinook offers a waterproof rating of 20,000 mm, ensuring reliable protection even in heavy rain. All seams are fully taped and the zippers are covered to enhance overall water resistance. Breathability of 20,000 g/m²/24 h helps maintain comfort during higher levels of physical activity. The outer fabric is treated with PFC-free DWR C0 water-repellent finishing.

Adjustability and Ventilation

For temperature regulation and adaptability, the jacket features:

• underarm ventilation zippers
• Velcro-adjustable cuffs
• drawcord adjustment at the waist and hood

This allows the jacket to be adapted to current weather conditions and layered clothing underneath.

Functional Storage and Details

The jacket includes four pockets:

• two hand pockets
• two upper sleeve pockets

The sleeve pockets feature Velcro panels for identification or patches. The main zipper is two-way and secured at the bottom with a snap for improved mobility. A transport pouch is included for compact storage when not in use.
