The ESP ExBO-18H 18″ Hardened Expandable Baton is designed for professional duty use. Its hardened telescoping steel shafts provide high resistance to bending, while the Friction Lock mechanism secures the baton in the extended position through tapered friction surfaces. The textured Type H rubber grip supports secure handling. This version is supplied without a holster.
The telescoping shafts are manufactured from seamless, cold-drawn steel and subsequently hardened to provide high mechanical strength and resistance to bending. The manufacturer specifies this model for professional use by police and other security personnel.
A rapid swing extends the telescoping shafts and locks their tapered contact surfaces together through friction. The baton is collapsed by releasing the lock with a vertical strike of the tip against a hard, solid surface.
The Type H rubber grip features a pronounced non-slip texture that promotes a secure hold and reduces the risk of the baton being pulled from the user’s hand. According to the manufacturer, the rubber compound is certified for prolonged skin contact.
The baton measures 455 mm when extended and 180 mm when collapsed. Its weight is 370 g. Compared with longer models, the 18″ version is easier to carry while retaining the hardened construction required for professional use.
The steel components are protected by a black nickel-zinc finish that provides good abrasion resistance. The ExBO-18H is supplied without a holster, allowing a compatible model to be selected separately according to the preferred carry position and existing duty equipment.
