ESP® ExBTO-24 Easy Lock Expandable Baton with Push-Button Release

The ESP ExBTO-24 Easy Lock expandable baton combines a textured non-slip grip, compact round end cap, and patented push-button release mechanism. Designed for professional duty use, the Easy Lock system allows the extended baton to be unlocked and collapsed directly in the user's hand. A rotating BHT-55 polymer holster is included.

Push-Button Easy Lock Release

Pressing the button in the end of the handle and applying light pressure to the tip releases the locking mechanism, allowing the telescoping sections to slide back into the handle. Unlike a conventional Friction Lock baton, the Easy Lock system does not require striking the baton against a hard surface before it can be collapsed.

Textured Grip and Compact Round End Cap

The molded rubber handle features pronounced texturing that supports a secure, non-slip grip. A round end cap provides a more compact profile than the alternative triangular design. The baton can be extended with a swinging motion or by manually pulling out the tip. The locking mechanism then secures the telescoping sections in the extended position.

Tested Locking Mechanism

The manufacturer tested the locking mechanism through repeated drops and operating cycles. The baton remained functional after being dropped from a height of 2 m onto concrete. The lock was also tested through 6,000 extension and collapse cycles and repeated drops into mud. A black nickel-zinc surface treatment improves the abrasion resistance of the telescoping tubes.

Rotating BHT-55 Duty Holster

The included BHT-55 polymer holster features a deployment base that can extend the telescoping sections automatically as the baton is drawn. This base can be removed when automatic extension is not required. The UBC-05-A belt attachment allows the holster angle to be adjusted through 360° without tools and accommodates belts measuring 38–68 mm wide.
