Black Diamond® Storm 550 Headlamp

The Black Diamond Storm 550 Headlamp is a rechargeable outdoor light designed for use in demanding weather and terrain. It combines focused and wide-area white light with red, green, and blue night-vision modes, signaling functions, glove-friendly controls, and a sealed IP67-rated housing.

Spot, Flood, and RGB Lighting

The focused spot beam illuminates terrain and objects at longer distances, while the flood beam provides broad light for close-range work, equipment handling, and movement around camp. Red, green, and blue night-vision modes provide additional options when preserving low-light vision or reducing the impact of bright white light is important.

White-light output can be adjusted to suit the task, while strobe and SOS modes provide options for signaling and emergency use. The combination of spot, flood, and RGB optics allows the beam pattern and color to be matched to current conditions.

Glove-Friendly Controls

Two large buttons provide straightforward operation even when wearing gloves. The primary button controls power and brightness, while the secondary button allows quick switching between output settings. The memory function recalls the previously selected intensity after the headlamp is turned off, and the digital lockout helps prevent accidental activation inside a pocket or backpack.

USB-C Charging with Pass-Through Operation

The rechargeable battery charges directly through a USB-C port without being removed from the headlamp. Pass-through operation allows the light to remain in use while connected to an external power source. A battery-level indicator provides a quick reference to the remaining charge, while maximum runtime reaches up to 70 hours depending on the selected mode and operating conditions.

IP67 Protection for Outdoor Use

The sealed housing is rated IP67 for resistance to dust and water. It can withstand immersion in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes, providing protection during heavy rain, accidental contact with water, and exposure to dusty environments. Recycled materials are used in the internal construction and headband. Black Diamond lighting products are covered by a three-year manufacturer warranty.
