The Glock 47 pistol in its fifth generation features a Modular Optic System (MOS) and of course, the classic 9×19mm Luger caliber. Like other Glock Gen5 pistols, the "forty-seven" includes many innovations, which we will discuss further. The standard-sized pistol combines the Glock 17 Gen5 MOS slide with the G45 frame.
Each Glock Gen5 pistol is equipped with "beavertail" type backstraps in two sizes. The backstrap frame allows users to change the circumference of the grip to suit the individual size of their hand.
The front part of the magazine base is enlarged, which makes it easier to remove the magazine from the pistol if it does not drop out on its own due to a malfunction or during reloading. Additional ergonomic features include front serrations on the barrel, which not only distinguish the weapon in appearance but also add another tactile surface for an overall better grip.
A better and more secure grip is also ensured by the rough textured frame (RTF) grip from the 4th generation (Gen4) of Glock pistols. It has proven its worth and is now also found on the fifth generation. The texture is designed to facilitate a better grip without being too aggressive.
The Glock Marksman Barrel (GMB) features advanced barrel rifling based on a polygonal design. The result is increased shooting accuracy.
One of the safety features of the Glock 21 Gen5 pistol is the chamber-loaded indicator, which ensures you no longer have to doubt whether the weapon is fully unloaded or not.
The magazine catch on the frame of the Glock 21 Gen5 pistol is ambidextrous and additionally enlarged towards the rear of the weapon. The ambidextrous magazine catch is more practical and allows better customization of the weapon to meet individual needs. Furthermore, the magazine well is widened at the entry to allow quicker and more automatic insertion of the magazine.
It is a tradition for the Glock brand to use a Modular Optic System (MOS), with this configuration simplifying the mounting of popular optical sights. Additional accessories, like tactical flashlights or lasers, can be attached underneath the barrel thanks to the mounting rail.
The polymer frame of the pistol is lightweight yet durable, and its advantage is also the reduced recoil thanks to the damping properties of polymer. The durability of the frame is further enhanced by the nDLC finish (nano diamond-like carbon), especially against corrosion and scratches. This finish also improves the pistol's ability to function in more demanding conditions.
In addition to those mentioned above, the safety features of the pistol include an orange magazine floorplate, which visually assures you that the magazine is indeed empty. The three safety disconnectors, part of the Safe Action system, automatically disengage one by one when the trigger is pressed, and all re-engage upon releasing the trigger.
No matter if your dominant hand is right or left, the ambidextrous slide stop lever facilitates quick, safe and convenient slide manipulation. The missing finger grooves on the grip enhance ergonomics and versatility of use, allowing the pistol to accommodate a wider range of users.
