Do you also think that firearm manufacturers can no longer surprise us in the field of polymer striker-fired pistols? The gentlemen from Slovenia's Arex decided to change that by releasing an upgraded version of their semi-automatic pistol, the Arex Delta Gen.2 OR, with plenty of interesting improvements.
The Arex Delta Gen.2 is truly a double-action striker-fired pistol. Pulling back the slide only partially charges the striker spring. This Striker Double Action system is inherently safer than a fully cocked single-action striker while maintaining smooth trigger operation and a short reset. But this is not the only feature contributing to the safety of the Arex Delta Gen.2 pistol when carried with a cartridge in the chamber.
Since any mechanical safety can fail, the engineers at Arex added an enhanced safety system to the Delta Gen.2 called the Triple Drop Safety, which includes a trigger safety, striker block, and drop safety. This system ensures that the Arex Delta Gen.2 will not discharge unintentionally under any circumstances. Additionally, the Delta Gen. 2 is equipped with a loaded chamber indicator on the top edge of the slide and a visual cocked indicator.
You need to be able to rely on your weapon under all circumstances. It must operate flawlessly even in the most unfavorable conditions. The Arex Delta Gen.2 builds on the proven, almost legendary reliability of the Arex Zero 1 pistols and takes it a step further. The internal extractor, internal slide catch, and a system for quick disassembly remove numerous potential points where dirt or foreign objects could enter the weapon.
At Arex, they listened to numerous user comments on the previous model and changed the grip texture. The Arex Delta Gen.2 now has a dotted texture on all four sides of the grip similar to sandpaper, with smooth edges that do not catch on clothing. The expanded magazine well, or magwell, also aids in quick magazine changes.
The frame of the weapon now features a multi-groove Picatinny rail that allows for the installation of even more accessories. Four interchangeable grip inserts help customize the grip for any hand. The slide is serrated both front and back, the slide catch is ambidextrous, and the magazine release button can be mounted on either the left or right side of the grip. The OR variant is already prepared for mounting pistol optics, and with the included adapters, the range of brands and models that can be mounted on the Arex Delta Gen.2 is incredibly wide.
The special edition of the Arex Delta Gen. 2 pistols in the OR variant (allowing for the installation of optics) is originally intended for the American market, with a small inscription "Global Ordnance" on the right side of the frame.
The Arex Delta Gen. 2 pistol is available in three sizes, marked with the letters M, L, and X. The classic full-size is marked with the letter L. The compact size is marked with the letter M. A compromise between the two, using the slide and barrel length from the compact but the full-size grip, is the crossover model marked X.
