How does it work ? 

To explain function of polarized lenses we need to start from the beginning. Sunlight is scattered in all directions, but when it hits a flat surface, light is reflected and becomes polarised. This means the light is more concentrated and usually travels in a horizontal direction. This intense light can cause blinding glare and reduces your visibility. Light can reflect off a number of different flat surfaces, including water, snow, cars and roads. When light is reflected it travels in a horizontal focus, making it difficult for us to see. The unique filter in polarised lenses block out the intense glare that follows and allowing only vertical light to enter your eye.

So pay attention to proper UV-blocking and polarized lenses. Many people think that some cheap sunglasses that we can get from farmer´s market will do the job. However, this is a big mistake that can cause unpleasant eye problems. How do we find out that our sunglasses are polarized ? If you want to check that your sunglasses are polarized, simply hold them in front of your face, look at your smartphone screen or any flat-panel computer display, and gently move your glasses up and down from right to left in a teeter totter motion. If the image disappears or you notice changes in brightness as they move, then your glasses are polarized.

Of course your functional eyewear can be stylish piece as well.
