The G.I.S. PSR9 Standard is a user-serviceable suppressor for semi-automatic pistols chambered in 9×19 mm. Its larger internal volume and six-baffle stack provide greater sound reduction than the shorter PSR9 Compact. An integrated recoil booster supports reliable cycling in pistols with moving-barrel operating systems, while the fully disassemblable construction provides access to all major components for cleaning and maintenance.
The PSR9 is available in Standard and Compact configurations. The Standard model is longer and slightly heavier, but its larger internal volume provides approximately 32 dB of sound reduction—around 3 dB more than the Compact version. It is intended for users who prioritize suppression performance over minimum overall length.
The integrated recoil booster, also known as a Nielsen device, supports reliable cycling in compatible short-recoil, locked-breech pistols. It is designed for common moving-barrel systems, including pistols with tilting or rotating barrels.
The booster can be indexed through 12 positions. Changing its orientation allows the suppressor to be aligned with the pistol and can help minimize or correct a suppressor-induced shift in the point of impact.
The PSR9 Standard uses six primary baffles and one expansion baffle. This longer internal stack provides greater gas expansion and sound reduction than the more compact PSR9 configuration.
The suppressor can be disassembled into its body, recoil booster, baffle stack, and other internal components. This provides access to areas where carbon, primer residue, and unburned powder accumulate during use and allows individual worn or damaged parts to be replaced when necessary.
The construction combines aluminum alloy, titanium alloy, stainless steel, and hardened high-strength steel. Aluminum components receive a hard-anodized finish, while steel parts are nitrided to increase surface hardness and wear resistance.
The PSR9 Standard is available with 1/2"-28, M12×0.75, M13×1, and M13.5×1 LH mounting threads. The selected version must match the muzzle thread of the intended barrel.
Subsonic ammunition provides the best overall sound reduction because the projectile remains below the speed of sound. A suppressor reduces muzzle blast but cannot eliminate the ballistic crack generated by a supersonic projectile.
The manufacturer recommends cleaning the suppressor after approximately 250 rounds to prevent excessive residue buildup. Particular attention should be paid to the recoil booster, as its moving components must remain clean and move freely for the pistol to cycle reliably.
