The Rip Ruck 20 from Mystery Ranch is a backpack that won't disappoint. It has military roots, a smart main compartment access and space for a laptop and water. It looks inconspicuous but can handle more than it seems – on a plane, at work and on the trail.
The Rip Ruck 20 combines practical dimensions with a well-designed internal layout. The main compartment opens with a rip-zip system with magnets – quickly, quietly and without unnecessary zipping. It fits everything from snacks to a camera, and thanks to the internal pockets, everything stays where it should.
The laptop and tablet have their own foam-padded space. A laptop up to 15” slides into the back pocket, while a tablet finds its place in a separate front sleeve. A mobile phone, glasses or keys belong in the front pocket, where they are within reach but safe.
A water bottle can be placed on the sides – or two. Inside, there is a mesh zip pocket, next to it an elastic pocket for things that need their own space: a first aid kit, flashlight, or perhaps a carabiner with keys. Everything has its place and nothing just gets lost.
The body of the backpack is made from durable nylon without PFAS and the bottom is made of recycled ballistic material with a carbonate coating. The teeth on YKK #8 and #10 zippers don't tire. The shaped back panel fits on the back without pressure and keeps its shape even when fully loaded.
