The smallest and most versatile knife sharpener. QuadSharp is a first responder for field repairs on all types of knife blades. It´s like having the entire sharpening system in your pocket. Sharpening angles have same four angles as the legendary Lansky Controlled Angle Sharpening System.
used to sharpen very dull blades or in terrain when the needs arise. Hold the knife with your dominant hand and with the other hand hold the sharpener. Pull the knife through the desired angle slot. 3 or 4 strokes (using moderate pressure) are enough to restore your knife´s blade. After sharpening rinse the blade thoroughly.
Note: Carbide is extremely aggresive and should only be used for fast sharpening in case of need. For general maintenance use the built-in ceramic benchstone.
The built-in ceramic benchstone has a medium grit 800. It is harder than steel, it will never wear out and can be therefore used often. It should be used as the primary sharpening element of your QuadSharp. This benchstone is also tapered for sharpening serrated blades.
Tip: extremely dull or damaged blades should be re-stored/re-profiled in one of the carbide slots before using the benchstone.
Note: Over the time metal shavings will accumulate as dark streaks making it less efficient. Clean it then with Lansky EraserBlock.
Sharpen by pulling the ceramic element against the grooved side, for larger serrations add rolling movement. Repeat process for each serration until you get desired sharpness. The reverse side of the serrated edge is usually plain so we just sweep it with flat side of the sharpener - few strokes back and forth.
