
Diamond Tapered Sharpening Rod easily folds into the ergonomic nylon impregnated plastic handle, that protects and makes carrying easier. Diamond tapered rod of fine grit 600 sharpens regular and serrated blades, gut hooks, fish hooks and many other tools. Diamond is an ideal abrasive for the fast reconditioning and maintenance of all tools and knives, which makes this sharpening rod ideal tool for every workshop.
Step 1 - start by opening the plastic handles; for safe use lock the handles together
Step 2 - place the end of the rod on a stable surface; hold the handles firmly in one hand and knife in the other
Step 3 - try to match the bevel angle, place the blade on the rod and draw the knife edge down the rod (as you were attempting to slice a thin layer off); use light pressure and maintain consistent angle; maintaining consistent angle is necessary for the best results.
Step 4 - make motion 3 - 4 times and switch to the other side of the blade´s edge and repeat until is sharp.

Step 3 - bring the rod into the serrations ; hold the knife firmly
Step 4 - pull the sharpener against the sharpener; maintain consistent angle using light pressure; repeat until serration is sharp, then move on to the another one; remove any burs created by sharpening on the other flat side.
Caution: Never apply oil to diamond surface,this could clogged pores and therefore cause unfunctionality. Clean it with water and wipe shavings away with a lint-free cloth. Rod should be completely dry before next use.
