Description and parameters
The kit features:
extrav coarse silver hone (70 grit) for re-profiling the bevel grind
coarse purple hone (120 grit) for reconditioning of extremely damaged edges
medium orange hone (280 grit) for sharpening and less frequent touch-ups
fine gold hone (600 grit) for frequent touch-ups to keep your blade paper-slicing sharp
Note: because diamond sharpeners are made of metal plate coated with mone-crystalline diamond, the hone will wear over the time and will need to be replaced. How soon it may happen depends on how often is being used, the hardness of the steel and the amount of pressure during sharpening process. because a diamond hone has a shorter life cycle tha other sharpeners, we suggest using just the weight of your hand when sharpening.
Warning: Never use honing oil on the diamond hones as it may clog the pores of diamond surface, resulting in a smooth surface and therefore unfunctionality.Included honing oil is intended for use with other sharpeners, that can be purchased extra.
Pro-tip: When you are trying to "remove" steel from the blade, use coarser diamond hone and finish with your fine hone (diamond, ceramic or tungsten carbide).
