Velocity Systems® Recce HK417 Chest Rig

The Velocity Systems Recce HK417 Chest Rig is designed for extended reconnaissance missions and combat loads built around HK417-pattern 7.62×51 mm magazines. Its integrated pouches hold six magazines, while two large and two compact general-purpose pouches provide space for communications equipment and other mission-essential gear. The padded H-harness is adjustable for standalone wear or use over body armor.

Integrated Capacity for Six Magazines

The chest rig carries six HK417 magazines in integrated pouches. Three magazines are held in open-top pouches for immediate access, while the remaining three are secured beneath protective flaps. According to the manufacturer, the pouches are also compatible with MR762, G3, and M110A1 magazines.

General-Purpose Pouches for Mission Gear

Two large general-purpose pouches are positioned beside the magazine cells and feature removable full-coverage flaps. They can also be configured with shorter flaps to accommodate a PRC-152 or PRC-148 radio together with a BA-5590 battery or a similarly sized battery pack on either side of the rig.

Two smaller general-purpose pouches provide storage for items such as a GPS device, compact camera, flashbang, mini-frag grenade, or other equipment of similar dimensions.

Adjustable Padded H-Harness

The padded H-harness can be adjusted for both torso length and shoulder width. This allows the chest rig to be configured for standalone wear over clothing or layered over a ballistic vest or plate carrier. Elastic loops and 1-inch webbing on the front of the harness provide cable management and routing points for antennas, hydration tubes, and small accessories.

Designed for Communications Equipment

Elastic routing points along the lower front of the rig support antenna relocation and help keep communication cables secured against the equipment. ITW Nexus IR hardware is used throughout the rig. A large rear hook-and-loop field accommodates a compatible dangler pouch or other hook-backed accessories.

Reinforced for 7.62 mm Loadouts

The Recce HK417 combines 500D and 1000D fabrics to manage the additional weight associated with 7.62×51 mm magazines and supporting equipment. Heavier material reinforces high-load and high-wear areas without adding unnecessary weight across the entire rig. The chest rig is manufactured in the USA.
