Original US Army chemical protective jacket designed for use in environments with chemical, biological, or radiological hazards (CBRN). It is part of the JSLIST (Joint Service Lightweight Integrated Suit Technology) system, which combines effective protection with reduced weight and improved breathability compared to older generations.
The integrated JSLIST liner uses a selectively permeable membrane with activated carbon that helps capture harmful substances while allowing moisture to escape. Compared to older carbon foam systems, this solution is lighter and more comfortable for extended wear. The jacket is designed as part of a complete protective ensemble but can also be used as an outer protective layer.
The loose fit allows it to be worn over additional layers of gear. Full-length closure is provided by a durable YKK zipper, covered by a hook-and-loop flap. The adjustable hood, cuffs, and hem allow for fit customization as needed. A sleeve pocket with hook-and-loop closure provides additional storage space.
The jacket originates from US Army surplus stocks. These are new, unused items in original packaging that may show minor signs of long-term storage. The expiration date may be exceeded, which is common for this type of equipment.
