The Moira Merino RDO balaclava is suitable for year round wear. You can use it for demanding tactical operations, sports and during your stay in nature. The balaclava is one size fits all and covers the entire head and neck with sufficient overlap under the uniform. The material adapts to the head and the low-profile cut with flat seams allows you to wear the hood even under a helmet.

Antiallergenic material

Thanks to the use of natural material, the product has excellent functional properties. The knitted merino wool of New Zealand sheep is comfortable to wear and does not irritate the skin. Merino does not contain any added substances and has natural antibacterial properties. It effectively wicks sweat away from the body and has no odour even when worn for a long time. Merino 165 has fibers with a diameter of only 16.5 microns, which together with the New Zealand origin and processing in the European Union gives the product a long life.

Protection against burns

The balaclava made of natural merino material does not melt under the action of heat like synthetic fiber products. This prevents secondary burns. It protects against the effects of flame flashing up to 570 C °. As a result, this material is used by NATO units at the FOB (Forward Operational Base) after the ban on the use of synthetic materials. Polyamide, polyester, Lycra, etc. have ceased to be used after a series of devastating secondary burns during IED interventions on missions in Afghanistan and Iraq.
