The Modestone Military Waterproof Notebook is designed for writing and fieldwork in conditions where conventional paper can quickly fail. It contains 50 sheets of waterproof stone paper in A4 format, printed with a 7 × 7 mm grid. Integrated rulers and unit-conversion tables support work with maps, technical drawings and field records.
The notebook measures 297 × 210 mm and contains 50 sheets, providing a total of 100 pages. The large writing area offers ample space for notes, map data, technical sketches and detailed field records.
Each page features a 7 × 7 mm grid that supports organized note-taking, diagram creation, dimensional work and technical drawing.
The inside back cover includes reference tools for working with measurements and maps. These include metric-to-imperial conversion tables and three rulers: centimeters, inches and a map ruler for a scale of 1:50,000.
Selected military versions of the notebook have their own NATO Stock Number. The specific NSN may vary according to the selected design and color.
The paper consists of approximately 80% calcium carbonate and 20% HDPE. It does not absorb water, including through its cut edges, and resists mud, snow, dirt and oil. The material is also more difficult to tear than conventional cellulose paper.
The stone paper can be written on with a standard pen or pencil. If conventional writing tools are unavailable, marks can also be made with a key or another suitable pointed metal object.
The side-mounted spiral binding keeps the sheets together while allowing pages to turn easily during work at a desk or in the field.
