PPQ in the name of the Walther PPQ M2 pistol stands for Polizei Pistole Quick Defence. It is therefore a police weapon for quick self-defense, derived from the P99 model, and has become a very popular service and defensive weapon, even gaining attention from sports shooters.
This pistol has become key in the entire current range of semi-automatic pistols from Carl Walther GmbH. The weapon features a polymer M2 type frame (with a button magazine release). The same frame is used in other models, such as PPQ Q4, Q4 TAC and Q4 TAC Combo.
The weapon is equipped with a slide with a trapezoidal cross-section and prominent serrations on both the front and rear parts, which assist the shooter with a better grip when cocking the weapon. Other important features include a locked slide and ambidextrous controls, as well as a rail on the front of the frame for mounting a flashlight or other accessories.
The perfectly crafted ergonomic frame allows for changing the backstrap and altering the orientation of the magazine release from the left side to the right side, and the excellent Quick Defence trigger guarantees a quality striker-fired pistol.
The trigger mechanism can be replaced with special Walther Dynamic Performance or Walther Expert triggers if needed. The PPQ M2 4" pistol comes with steel luminescent sights, which can also be replaced as necessary.
