Do you also think that gun manufacturers can no longer surprise us in the field of polymer pistols with a striker-fired mechanism? The gentlemen from Slovenian Arex decided to change this, and therefore released an updated version of their semi-automatic pistol Arex Delta Gen.2 OR with a lot of interesting improvements.
The Arex Delta Gen.2 is a truly double-action pistol with a striker-fired mechanism. By pulling the slide of the weapon, the spring of the striker is only partially cocked. This Striker Double Action system is inherently safer than a single-action fully cocked striker. All this while maintaining a smooth trigger operation and short reset. This is not the only feature that contributes to the safety of carrying the Arex Delta Gen.2 pistol with a round in the chamber.
Since any mechanical safety can fail, Arex engineers added an expanded safety system to the Delta Gen.2 pistol, calling it Triple Drop Safety, which includes a trigger safety, striker block, and drop safety. This system ensures that the Arex Delta Gen.2 will not discharge accidentally under any circumstances. Delta Gen. 2 is also equipped with a chamber loaded indicator on the top edge of the slide and a cocking indicator visible on the slide face.
You must be able to rely on your weapon under all circumstances. It must function flawlessly even in the most unfavorable conditions. The Arex Delta Gen.2 builds on the proven, nearly legendary reliability of Arex Zero 1 pistols and takes it a step higher. The internal extractor, internal slide catch, and a system for quick disassembly of the weapon eliminate numerous potential entry points for dirt or foreign objects into the weapon.
Arex listened to the numerous comments from users of the previous model and changed the texture of the grip. The Arex Delta Gen.2 now has a dotted texture similar to sandpaper on all four sides of the grip with smooth edges that prevent snagging on clothing. The extended magazine well, also known as the magwell, helps with quick magazine changes. The weapon's frame now has a multi-groove Picatinny rail that allows for the placement of an even wider range of accessories.
Four interchangeable grip inserts help tailor the grip to any hand. The slide is ribbed at both the front and rear, the slide catch is ambidextrous, and the magazine release button can be mounted on either the left or right side of the grip. The OR variant is already equipped with a mount for pistol optics, and with the included adapters, the range of brands and models that can be mounted on the Arex Delta Gen.2 is incredibly wide.
The Arex Delta Gen.2 pistol is sold in three sizes, marked with the letters M, L, and X. The classic full-size is labeled with the letter L. The compact size is marked with the letter M. A compromise between both, using the slide and barrel length from the compact and a full-size grip, is the crossover model marked X. The Arex Delta Gen.2 X is a crossover series pistol with a compact slide and extended grip.
