Discoveryopt® MS 3–9×40 IR SFP MOA Riflescope

The Discoveryopt MS 3–9×40 IR SFP MOA combines a 3–9× magnification range, 40 mm objective lens, and a red illuminated reticle in the second focal plane. Its MOA-based turrets provide a 0.25 MOA click value and can be locked to help prevent unintended adjustments. The riflescope also features 6 illumination brightness settings, a 1 in / 25.4 mm main tube, nitrogen-purged construction, and an IP66 rating.

Second Focal Plane Reticle with Red Illumination

The reticle is located in the second focal plane, meaning its apparent size remains constant as magnification changes. Red illumination with 6 brightness settings improves reticle visibility against dark or low-contrast backgrounds. The illumination system is powered by one CR2032 battery, which is not included.

0.25 MOA Adjustments and Locking Turrets

Each elevation and windage click equals 0.25 MOA, corresponding to approximately 7.3 mm at 100 m. The riflescope provides 70 MOA of total elevation travel and 70 MOA of total windage travel. Both turrets can be locked after adjustment to reduce the risk of accidental rotation during handling or transport. Parallax is factory-set at 100 yd, or approximately 91.4 m.

3–9× Magnification Range

The 3–9× magnification range provides a wider view at the lower settings and supports more precise aiming at increased distances when higher magnification is selected. The field of view ranges from approximately 14.5 to 4.9 m at 100 m. The exit pupil ranges from 13.1 to 4.3 mm, while eye relief measures approximately 83 to 72 mm.

One-Inch Main Tube and IP66 Protection

The riflescope features a 1 in / 25.4 mm main tube, measures 307 mm in overall length, and weighs 370 g. Nitrogen purging helps prevent internal fogging, while the IP66 rating provides dust-tight protection and resistance to powerful water jets. The manufacturer rates this model for use on spring-piston air rifles and firearms chambered in .223 Rem or 5.56 NATO.
