The Helikon-Tex 275 Cord is a lightweight, compact nylon utility cord for outdoor activities, bushcraft, camping and emergency kits. With a diameter of 2.4 mm, it has a specified strength of 275 lb, approximately 125 kg. It is thinner and less bulky than standard 550 Paracord, making it practical for applications where a heavier cord is unnecessary.
The 275 Cord is supplied in a length of 100 ft, approximately 30 m. Its 2.4 mm diameter allows a substantial length to be carried in a backpack, bushcraft kit or emergency bag without taking up unnecessary space.
The manufacturer specifies a strength of 275 lb, approximately 125 kg. The cord consists of four inner nylon strands protected by a densely braided outer sheath.
The inner strands can be removed and used separately when needed, for example as improvised sewing thread or fishing line. This increases the cord’s versatility for field repairs and emergency situations.
The cord is made from 100% nylon. The material is resistant to UV radiation and rot and retains its color during extended outdoor use.
The 275 Cord can be used for shelter construction, organizing equipment, minor repairs and securing lightweight items. Its smaller diameter makes it suitable for tasks where standard 550 Paracord would be unnecessarily thick or bulky.
The 275 Cord is not designed for climbing, fall protection, rescue operations or lifting and suspending people. It must not be used for applications in which personal safety or the protection of life depends on the cord.
