GBRS Group® HYDRA V2 Mount / Aimpoint® Duty RDS™

The GBRS Group HYDRA V2 is a high-rise mount designed for Aimpoint Duty RDS and CompM5s red dot sights. It positions the optic's axis 2.91" / approximately 73.9 mm above the mounting rail. An elevated front Picatinny platform provides space for a compatible laser aiming module, light, thermal optic, or other accessory while freeing up valuable space on the handguard.

2.91" Optical Axis Height

The HYDRA V2 positions the red dot sight's optical axis 2.91" / approximately 73.9 mm above the top surface of the mounting rail. The elevated position supports a more upright head posture and can make the optic easier to use with a helmet, communications headset, protective mask, or night vision device.

Elevated Picatinny Platform

The front of the mount features an elevated Picatinny platform for compatible accessories such as a laser aiming module, weapon light, or thermal optic. Moving accessories above the primary optic mount frees up handguard space, particularly on compact platforms with limited rail length.

For Aimpoint Duty RDS and CompM5s

This HYDRA V2 version uses a mounting interface designed for the Aimpoint Duty RDS and is also compatible with the Aimpoint CompM5s. GBRS offers separate versions for other optics, so the mount must be selected according to the specific model.

Cable and Iron-Sight Pass-Through

The mount's neck incorporates an opening that can be used for cable routing or as a sight channel for backup iron sights. On the second-generation HYDRA, this opening has been enlarged and the neck reinforced.

Second-Generation Improvements

Compared with the original version, the HYDRA V2 has a shorter rear base that allows a compatible FTC magnifier mount to be positioned closer to the primary optic. Pass-through openings provide easier access to the mounting screws, while the front platform includes holes for directly mounting a compatible laser aiming module.

6061-T6 Aluminum and Steel Hardware

The mount body is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and protected by a Type III Class 2 hard-anodized finish compliant with MIL-A-8625. The clamping bar and screws are made from 17-4 PH stainless steel in H900 condition and feature a Melonite QPQ finish. The washers are made from 18-8 stainless steel.
