Magpul® MIAD® Gen 1.1 Grip Kit – Type 2

The MIAD® Gen 1.1 Grip Kit Type 2 from Magpul is a modular pistol grip designed to adapt to the user’s hand size and storage requirements. The grip supports interchangeable storage cores, including an oil bottle core with a capacity of approximately 15 ml, which is supplied as standard. This design allows the grip to be configured for practical use without compromising durability or ergonomics.

Modular Size and Ergonomics

The MIAD Gen 1.1 Grip Kit includes two interchangeable front straps and three rear straps, allowing the grip to be tailored to the shooter’s hand. The grip features a 25° angle and a width of 1.2" (30 mm) at its widest point. Its aggressive texturing ensures a secure grip, and the durable polymer construction is suitable for hard use.

Compatibility Across Platforms

This grip is a drop-in replacement for standard AR-15 and AR-10 pattern pistol grips. The Type 2 configuration uses taller rear straps and is optimized for specific 7.62×51 platforms with compatible lower receiver geometry. Improved ergonomics contribute to enhanced weapon control and consistent handling. As with most Magpul products, the MIAD Gen 1.1 Grip Kit Type 2 is manufactured in the United States.

Important Compatibility Note

The Type 2 grip kit utilizes taller rear straps and is intended for use with selected 7.62×51 platforms, including Armalite AR-10A/B/T, DPMS LR-308, KAC SR-25, LaRue OBR, LMT .308 MWS, Palmetto PA10, and Smith & Wesson M&P10. Certain 7.62×51 rifles require a Type 1 grip instead, such as Aero Precision M5 .308, CMMG Mk3, CORE Rifle Systems CORE30, HK 417 / MR762A1, LWRCI REPR, Mega Arms MATEN, POF-USA P-308, Ruger SR-762, and SIG Sauer 716.
