Marlin® 1894 Dark Series Lever-Action Rifle, .357 Magnum

The Marlin 1894 Dark Series is a lever-action rifle chambered in .357 Magnum that combines the traditional Model 1894 action with modern accessory interfaces. It features a 16.17 in cold hammer-forged threaded barrel with a radial muzzle brake, an aluminum M-LOK handguard, a polymer stock with a removable cheek riser, and a receiver-mounted Picatinny rail. The tubular magazine holds 8 rounds of .357 Magnum or 9 rounds of .38 Special.

Cold Hammer-Forged Threaded Barrel

The alloy steel barrel is cold hammer-forged and measures 16.17 in / approximately 41.1 cm. Its muzzle features a 1/2"-28 thread and comes fitted with a removable radial muzzle brake. An additional thread protector is included for use without the brake or another compatible muzzle device. The barrel has a 1:16 in right-hand twist with 6 grooves.

Aluminum M-LOK Handguard and Picatinny Rail

The anodized aluminum handguard features M-LOK slots for mounting a weapon light, bipod, or other compatible accessories. Additional M-LOK slots are integrated into the nylon-reinforced polymer stock. A Picatinny rail mounted on top of the receiver accommodates a riflescope, red dot sight, or other compatible optic.

Iron Sights for Different Lighting Conditions

The iron sights consist of an adjustable ghost ring rear sight and a front sight combining a fiber-optic element with a tritium ring. The fiber optic improves visibility in available daylight, while the tritium element remains visible in low-light conditions. A removable cheek riser on the stock helps establish a more suitable head position when using an optic.

Tubular Magazine for .357 Magnum and .38 Special

The tubular magazine is loaded through a gate on the right side of the receiver. It holds 8 rounds of .357 Magnum or 9 rounds of .38 Special. The rifle is designed to feed compatible factory-loaded ammunition in both calibers.

Modern Dark Series Construction

The receiver, lever, and trigger guard plate are CNC-machined from alloy steel. The primary metal components feature a Graphite Black Cerakote finish, while the lever has a nitrided surface for increased wear resistance. Its medium-loop profile provides additional operating space and supports comfortable cycling of the action.

QD Sling Mounts and Polymer Stock

The nylon-reinforced polymer stock features a rubber recoil pad and removable cheek riser. QD sling swivel sockets are positioned on the stock and at the front of the handguard for attaching a two-point sling. The rifle also incorporates a manual cross-bolt safety and a traditional half-cock hammer position.
