Discoveryopt® LHT 3–12×42 SFIR FFP MOA Riflescope

The Discoveryopt LHT 3–12×42 SFIR FFP MOA combines a 3–12× magnification range, 42 mm objective lens, and a first focal plane reticle. Its MOA-based locking turrets provide a 0.25 MOA click value, while side parallax adjustment is available from 8 yd / approximately 7.3 m to infinity. The riflescope also features red reticle illumination with 6 brightness settings. With an overall length of 304 mm and a weight of 480 g, it offers a relatively compact and lightweight configuration.

First Focal Plane Reticle and 3–12× Magnification

The reticle is located in the first focal plane, meaning it scales with the target image as magnification changes. Its angular subtensions therefore remain accurate throughout the entire 3–12× magnification range. The field of view ranges from approximately 11.8 m at 3× to 2.8 m at 12×, measured at 100 m. Lower magnification provides a wider view of the target area, while the higher settings support more detailed observation and precise aiming at increased distances.

0.25 MOA Adjustments and Locking Turrets

Each elevation and windage click equals 0.25 MOA, corresponding to approximately 7.3 mm at 100 m. The riflescope provides 80 MOA of total elevation travel and 60 MOA of total windage travel. Both turrets can be locked after adjustment to reduce the risk of unintended rotation during handling, field use, or transport.

Side Parallax Adjustment and Reticle Illumination

The side-focus control provides parallax adjustment from 8 yd / approximately 7.3 m to infinity. This allows the target image to be focused for the selected distance while minimizing apparent reticle movement caused by parallax, including at relatively short ranges. The reticle features red illumination with 6 brightness settings, allowing its intensity to be adapted to the ambient light. The illumination system is powered by one CR2032 battery.

Compact 30 mm Main Tube Construction

The riflescope features a 30 mm main tube, measures 304 mm in overall length, and weighs 480 g. The exit pupil ranges from 13.3 to 3.3 mm, while eye relief measures approximately 86–87 mm. Nitrogen purging helps prevent internal fogging, while the IP67 rating provides dust-tight protection and resistance to temporary immersion in water. The manufacturer rates this model for recoil up to .300 Win. Mag.
