Safariland Impulse hearing protectors are passive earplugs designed primarily to protect against impulse noise from gunfire, explosions and other sudden, high-level sounds. Integrated filters react automatically to impulse noise while allowing normal ambient sounds to remain audible. With no electronics or batteries required, the reusable earplugs are compact enough for use with helmets and other tactical gear.
The integrated filters are designed to reduce the impact of sudden, high-level sounds and help protect hearing from gunfire, explosions, artillery fire and other impulse noise. Peak impulse noise attenuation (IPIL) reaches 41.7 dB.
At normal sound levels, the filters allow ambient sounds to pass through, helping the wearer communicate and remain aware of the surrounding environment without removing the earplugs. Their design also helps preserve directional sound perception, which is particularly useful on the range and in tactical environments.
The Safariland Impulse hearing protectors operate entirely passively. There is nothing to switch on, adjust or charge, and the protective system responds automatically to impulse noise. With no batteries or electronic components to maintain, the earplugs are always ready for use and can be used repeatedly.
The package includes two pairs of ear tips in commonly used sizes for a more comfortable fit. A neck cord helps prevent loss when the earplugs are temporarily removed, while the aluminum carrying case features an attachment ring for convenient storage on gear or with your keys.
