CELOX Medical's Celox Rapid is a hemostatic gauze designed for the rapid cessation of severe bleeding during first aid. Utilizing activated chitosan technology, it acts immediately upon contact with blood, helping to stabilize injuries in critical situations.
The recommended duration of direct pressure is approximately 60 seconds or until the bleeding stops. The chitosan in the gauze reacts with blood to form a gel-like layer that adheres to tissue, sealing the wound. This process significantly limits blood loss and enhances the effectiveness of compression.
Celox Rapid remains effective even in hypothermic conditions, where normal blood clotting mechanisms fail. This makes it ideal for use in the field, during tactical deployments, and in emergency crisis situations. CELOX products have long been trusted by armed forces, including the UK Ministry of Defense.
