The Apex stainless steel guide rod assembly replaces the factory guide rod in the Springfield Armory Echelon and increases front-end weight to help reduce muzzle rise and improve recoil control. Weighing 38 g—more than seven times the factory assembly—it retains the original recoil spring while adding mass where it has the greatest effect.
The complete Apex guide rod assembly weighs 38 g, compared to just 5.4 g for the factory guide rod and cap. The additional weight is positioned beneath the barrel at the front of the slide, helping reduce muzzle rise during recoil and allowing the pistol to return to the target more quickly for follow-up shots.
The guide rod and threaded recoil spring cap are machined from heat-treated, polished stainless steel for long service life and corrosion resistance. The threaded cap securely retains the factory recoil spring and allows normal field stripping and maintenance. Installation requires a T10 Torx driver or bit.
The Apex assembly replaces only the guide rod and spring cap, leaving the factory recoil spring unchanged. This allows shooters to increase front-end weight without altering the operating characteristics of the recoil system.
This guide rod assembly is compatible with Springfield Armory Echelon pistols equipped with either the standard 4.5" barrel or the threaded 5.28" barrel. It is not compatible with the Echelon Compact or other barrel-length variants.
