At the core of eVent^® technology is a microporous membrane made from expanded PTFE (ePTFE). Unlike some conventional membranes that begin to breathe only when saturated with moisture, Direct Venting™ enables immediate vapor release from the body. Performance parameters include:

• Waterproof rating up to 30,000 mm
• Breathability of 15,000–25,000 g/m²/24h

The eVent^® BIO variant features a membrane derived from castor oil and is paired with recycled fabrics. The alpineST range further reduces environmental impact by combining recycled textiles with a fluorine-free DWR coating that maintains water repellency even after repeated washing.
