Polartec ^® Power Dry ^® FR was created to provide basic flame resistance and more reliable moisture-wicking properties. Chemical treatments of fabrics can only provide temporary wicking since the capabilities and properties of the material weaken with each wash. Therefore, Polartec invented a base material that pulls moisture away from the skin and spreads out for faster evaporation.

The technology used for moisture control is the highest priority for Polartec. Heat and moisture vapor must be in a constant state of flow to ensure that the fabric doesn't saturate and lose performance characteristics. That is why Polartec ^® Power Dry ^® FR is constructed with a patented two-component knit construction that increases drying capabilities throughout the fabric. This dual-surface approach maximizes performance by mechanically pulling sweat and vapor from the skin and directly transferring it to the outer surface, where it disperses.
