Grilamid

Grilamid TR 90 is a transparent polyamide with excellent thermal resistance. The material excels in exceptional mechanical properties, shows low moisture absorption, and dimensional stability. It withstands low temperatures, cosmetic chemicals, and aging. Eyeglass frames made from this material are lightweight, extremely flexible, safe, and its properties significantly influence the comfort of wearing, safety, and durability of the entire eyeglasses.

We know several types of Grilamid. For example, Grilamid SST. With Grilamid SST materials, it is possible to achieve a combination of maximum stiffness, strength, and impact toughness, previously unattainable. Thanks to this, Grilamid SST enables the production of exceptionally rigid and extremely tough precise parts that were previously mostly still made of metal. Then there is also Grilamid FWA. This group of PA12 Grilamid FWA products offers a range of new possibilities for the production of parts intended for contact with food and drinking water. Grilamid FWA materials are available in several product lines, depending on the maximum allowable temperature in contact with drinking water.

All these materials are commonly available in natural and black colors. Grilamid FWA materials are approved according to the most important standards and regulations valid in Europe and North America, such as WRAS, ACS, KTW, NSF, and FDA. Grilamid is the lightest among all polyamides and can be excellently processed by injection molding, extrusion, and blow molding. The high quality of Grilamid L materials is given by the chemical structure of polyamide 12.
