The Glock 49 Gen6 represents an updated evolution of the Glock 49 platform, combining proven reliability with refined ergonomics and modern features. This crossover-sized pistol pairs a standard-length slide with a compact frame and is chambered in 9×19 mm. While retaining the simplicity and durability Glock is known for, the Gen6 configuration introduces a number of ergonomic and functional enhancements while preserving the Safe Action system.
The frame features updated grip texturing with increased surface coverage, providing a more secure hold in adverse conditions. A revised grip shape better follows the natural anatomy of the hand, while the extended beavertail, deeper trigger guard undercut, and modified front slide serrations support a higher and more controlled grip. An integrated textured support-hand thumb reference on the frame further enhances stability during firing. The slide stop area is bordered by an enlarged frame edge to reduce the likelihood of unintended activation.
The Glock 49 Gen6 is equipped with a revised optic-ready interface designed to allow a low-profile and stable mounting of reflex sights. The system provides a solid connection between the slide and optic while maintaining compatibility with common footprints through supplied adapter plates. This configuration supports consistent zero retention under duty and training use.
The pistol features a flat-faced trigger shoe and a revised grip-to-trigger reach, improving accessibility for shooters with smaller hands. The Safe Action system remains unchanged in its core design, utilizing three internal safeties to provide consistent operation without external manual controls.
An ambidextrous slide stop lever is standard, ensuring usability for both right- and left-handed shooters. The placement and geometry of the controls follow established Glock patterns, allowing intuitive operation without introducing unnecessary complexity.
Like all Glock pistols, the Glock 49 Gen6 is built for reliability under demanding conditions. The polymer frame and nDLC-coated slide and barrel offer high resistance to wear, corrosion, and mechanical stress, supporting long service life in both professional and civilian use.
