The Model M4 is a semi-automatic shotgun manufactured by the legendary Italian firearms producer Benelli. The semi-automatic shotgun M4 T-Pro Brown 18.5" is the fourth and final model in the Benelli Super 90 series of semi-automatic shotguns. The M4 operates using a gas-operated system, named ARGO (Auto Regulating Gas Operated system) by Benelli, which was designed in 1998 specifically for the M4 semi-automatic shotgun.
On May 4th, 1998, the research and development center of the United States Army (ARDEC) at Picatinny Arsenal in New Jersey issued a requirement for a new 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun for the U.S. armed forces. In response to this requirement, Benelli designed and introduced the Benelli M4 Super 90 shotgun. After intensive military testing, the M4 shotgun won the competition. This semi-automatic shotgun is used by armed forces worldwide, including countries like Italy and the United Kingdom, beyond the U.S. armed forces.
Benelli. That is all a shooter needs to hear when it comes to shotguns. The brand's name has long been synonymous with craftsmanship and precision of the highest quality. Shooters who face high demands, be it in sports, hunting or protecting others, expect the tools they use to be of the highest possible quality. And the Benelli M4 T-Pro Brown 18.5" semi-automatic shotgun is exactly that. A robust, practical shotgun designed especially for ensuring shooter comfort and quick use.
Testing of the military version of the M4 shotgun indicates a high level of reliability. The weapon operates flawlessly for a minimum of 25,000 rounds without the need to replace main components due to wear. The steel parts of the weapon are black phosphated and have a corrosion-resistant surface. The aluminum parts are anodized. All these construction details ensure that the Benelli M4 T-Pro Brown 18.5" semi-automatic shotgun requires minimal maintenance and functions in all climatic and weather conditions.
Thanks to the telescopic stock specially developed for the M4 shotgun, you can easily and quickly adjust the weapon's length simply by pressing a button and sliding the stock inward or outward. The stock is made from fiberglass-reinforced technopolymer.
The weapon is also equipped with Benelli's innovative gas system, which is precise, durable and reliable. Argo stands for Auto Regulating Gas Operated system. The A.R.G.O. system is located under the barrel near the chamber and can thus utilize higher pressure and hot gases from shooting. A special regulating valve then releases excess pressure from the shooting.
