The AK-47, designed by Mikhail Kalashnikov, was introduced into the Soviet army in 1949. For its time, the AK-47 was a compact and robust weapon with a small number of moving parts. This design solution made it a reliable and globally appreciated weapon.
Certain shortcomings were identified in the original AK-47, so at the end of the 1950s, Mikhail Kalashnikov made a major overhaul of his automatic weapon. One of the main features and apparent differences compared to the original AK-47, aside from differently shaped handguards, was the use of a steel stamped receiver cover instead of the original machined piece. The same applies to this variant of the weapon from WBP. This solution allowed for a reduction in the weapon's weight.
The modernized version of the Jack rifle includes a modified gas tube with an integrated Picatinny rail. Additionally, the handguards also have integrated Picatinny rails, allowing for accessory mounting. It also features an enlarged safety lever and magazine catch and includes a polymer stock and grip.
WBP is a family-owned company from Poland with an interesting and long-standing tradition. It prides itself on high product quality, its own development and innovation. All weapons are manufactured from the first screw to the last piece of wood for the stock in the WBP family enterprise, keeping the entire production under their control. Ninety percent of weapon production at WBP is intended for export to the USA. All internal components of weapons manufactured here must have precise manufacturing tolerances.
At WBP, they know how important user feedback is, so their main advantage is close collaboration with members of special units who test and provide feedback on the AK/AR systems for the company. Thus, the most experienced and stringent critics have a say. This is why the company is continuously evolving and modernizing.
