The Apex extended magazine release for the Springfield Armory Echelon and Echelon Compact provides a larger, easier-to-reach contact surface for faster and more consistent magazine changes. Unlike the factory ambidextrous design, it uses a reversible single-sided configuration that can be installed for either right- or left-handed shooters. Its three-sided textured button offers a secure thumb purchase, while the steel construction is finished with a durable Black ArmorLube coating.
The magazine release extends approximately 1.5 mm beyond the protective frame fence at its highest point, making it easier to reach without significantly shifting your firing grip. The three-sided textured button provides positive thumb engagement for more consistent operation under stress or while wearing gloves.
While the factory Echelon magazine release is fully ambidextrous, the Apex design uses a reversible single-sided configuration. During installation, it can be configured for either right- or left-handed operation. Eliminating the button on the opposite side also helps reduce the chance of accidental magazine release caused by holsters, gear, or pressure against the frame.
Machined from steel, the magazine release is protected by Apex's Black ArmorLube finish for enhanced wear and corrosion resistance. It installs as a direct replacement for the factory magazine release without requiring permanent modifications to the pistol.
The extended magazine release is designed for both Springfield Armory Echelon and Echelon Compact pistols. The reversible design allows shooters to configure the control for their preferred shooting hand while maintaining the same operating layout across both pistol sizes.
