Discoveryopt® MS 3–12×42 AOAC SFP MOA Riflescope

The Discoveryopt MS 3–12×42 AOAC SFP MOA combines a 3–12× magnification range, 42 mm adjustable objective, and a red illuminated reticle in the second focal plane. Its locking turrets provide MOA-based adjustments with a 0.25 MOA click value. Parallax can be adjusted through the objective from 5 yd / approximately 4.6 m to infinity.

Adjustable Objective with Parallax Control

The AO designation refers to the Adjustable Objective system, which allows parallax to be corrected through the objective assembly. Its adjustment range of 5 yd / approximately 4.6 m to infinity supports use at both short and extended target distances.

Second Focal Plane Reticle with Red Illumination

The reticle is located in the second focal plane, meaning its apparent size remains constant as magnification changes. Red illumination with 6 brightness settings improves reticle visibility against dark or low-contrast backgrounds. The illumination system is powered by one CR2032 battery.

0.25 MOA Adjustments and Locking Turrets

Each elevation and windage click equals 0.25 MOA, corresponding to approximately 7.3 mm at 100 m. The riflescope provides 80 MOA of total elevation travel and 80 MOA of total windage travel. Both turrets can be locked after adjustment to reduce the risk of unintended rotation during handling or transport.

3–12× Magnification Range

The 3–12× magnification range provides a wider view of the target area at the lower settings and supports more detailed observation and precise aiming at increased distances. The field of view ranges from approximately 12.6 to 3.7 m at 100 m. The exit pupil ranges from 13.6 to 3.4 mm, while eye relief measures approximately 75 to 66 mm.

One-Inch Main Tube and IP66 Protection

The riflescope features a 1 in / 25.4 mm main tube and a 51 mm external objective bell diameter. It measures 315 mm in overall length and weighs 525 g. Nitrogen purging helps prevent internal fogging, while the IP66 rating provides dust-tight protection and resistance to powerful water jets. The manufacturer rates this model for 5.56 NATO recoil.
