Discoveryopt® ED-AR 1–6×24 IR FFP-MIL Riflescope

The Discoveryopt ED-AR 1–6×24 IR FFP-MIL is a compact low-power variable optic with true 1× magnification, a 6× maximum setting, and a 24 mm objective lens. Its first focal plane reticle is paired with MRAD-based adjustments and a 0.1 MRAD click value. The 30 mm main tube features capped turrets that help prevent unintended adjustments. A red illuminated reticle and wide field of view at 1× support fast target acquisition at close range, while the higher magnification settings allow more precise aiming at greater distances.

True 1× to 6× Magnification

True 1× magnification provides a wide field of view for fast aiming at close range, while the 6× setting supports more precise target identification and shot placement at increased distances. The field of view ranges from approximately 44.1 m at 1× to 6.8 m at 6×, measured at 100 m. The exit pupil ranges from 13.5 to 3.9 mm, while eye relief measures approximately 103 to 85 mm.

First Focal Plane Reticle and MRAD Adjustments

The reticle is located in the first focal plane, meaning it scales with the target image as magnification changes. Its angular subtensions therefore remain accurate throughout the entire magnification range. Each elevation and windage click equals 0.1 MRAD, corresponding to approximately 1 cm at 100 m. The riflescope provides 35 MRAD of total elevation travel and 19.5 MRAD of total windage travel. Protective turret caps reduce the risk of unintended adjustments during handling and transport.

ED Glass and Red Illumination

The optical system uses extra-low dispersion glass to reduce chromatic aberration and help maintain image contrast and clarity at higher magnification settings. The reticle features red illumination with 6 brightness settings and is powered by one CR2032 battery.

Fixed Parallax and 30 mm Main Tube

Parallax is fixed at 100 yd, or approximately 91.4 m. The riflescope features a 30 mm main tube, measures 270 mm in overall length, and weighs 657 g. Its nitrogen-purged construction helps prevent internal fogging, while the IP67 rating provides protection against dust and temporary immersion in water. The manufacturer rates the riflescope for recoil up to .50 BMG.
