Loke 20 vs. Loke 24: What’s New?

The new Loke 24 builds on its predecessor, the Loke 20, long regarded as one of the best Ventile cotton jackets on the market. Tilak has kept everything essential – the natural material, versatile usability, and precise Czech workmanship – while refining details and fit.

The updated version features a more ergonomic cut, an improved hood that packs into the collar, new waterproof zippers, and redesigned underarm vents. The Ventile^® fabric itself has been subtly modernized for a more balanced mix of waterproofing, breathability, and durability.

Service and Longevity: Built to Last for Years

Tilak designs its garments for long-term, intensive use – not only through durable construction but also through maintainability. Each product comes with a four-year warranty and in-house repair support directly in Šumperk.

Customers can even send in a ten-year-old jacket for repair – if the material is still available, it will be restored using original seam tape, zippers, or fabric panels. Because even the best construction won’t last without proper care. Gore-Tex and other membrane fabrics require regular washing to maintain full functionality.

Four-Year Warranty and Repairs from Original Materials (Šumperk)

Tilak holds itself to some of the strictest quality standards in the industry. Every warranty claim or repair is handled individually and directly at their factory in Šumperk. Unlike most brands, Tilak doesn’t outsource service abroad – their team works with an archive of materials, including several generations of Gore-Tex laminates, zippers, and tapes, allowing them to restore even older models.

Typical repairs include:

• seam re-taping

• panel reinforcement or replacement after mechanical damage

Why and How to Wash Membrane Jackets

It may sound counter-intuitive, but the most common cause of membrane damage isn’t wear – it’s dirt. Sweat, oils, and debris clog the membrane’s micropores, blocking breathability and eventually leading to delamination (separation of layers). That’s why regular washing is essential, ideally after every extended use.

A properly maintained jacket rewards you with long life, full waterproof performance, and breathability. Tilak also recommends occasional re-proofing of the outer fabric to restore its ability to repel water and dirt.
