The HS Produkt S5 pistol is incredibly lightweight due to the materials used and its micro-compact dimensions. At the same time, it provides unparalleled performance for self-defense with the .45 ACP ammunition used. When carrying it all day, you will hardly notice it and you can rely on it in any situation.
The HS Produkt S5 pistol is equipped with an innovative system for changing the magazine catch button. The weapon is comfortable for handling both for right-handers and left-handers.
The pistol utilizes a pre-cocked striker design and is equipped with three safeties. A trigger safety, striker block and grip safety.
The semi-automatic HS Produkt S5 pistol has a frame with a mounting rail, a rounded trigger guard, and for such a small pistol, a pronounced beavertail. This, along with excellent ergonomics, significantly increases control over the weapon during shooting.
The slide of the pistol has aggressive serrations at both the front and rear for more secure and safer handling during cocking. All surfaces on the weapon are rounded, which prevents the "no-snag" effect.
The HS Produkt S5 pistol features a forged barrel and slide, which are treated with a Melonite finish. The weapon is equipped with a single-stack magazine, giving it a slim profile.
The semi-automatic HS Produkt S5 pistol comes standard with a red fiber optic front sight and a rear sight highlighted in white with a U-cut. The rear sight also features serrations to reduce glare.
The HS Produkt company was founded as IM Metal in 1991 in Croatia. At the beginning of 2001, after the success of the HS2000 pistols on the global market, the company changed its name to HS Produkt. In 2007, HS Produkt began collaborating with Springfield Armory. Thanks to this strategic collaboration, the company quickly became the largest importer of handguns to the American market.
The founders and co-owners of HS Produkt, Ivan Žabčić and Marko Vuković, are both mechanical engineers. Vuković is the chief designer of most weapons. He also has combat experience as a veteran of the Croatian War of Independence, during which he was injured twice. In 2016, HS Produkt was among the competitors in the bid to replace the FAMAS rifles in the French army.
