The Discoveryopt Heavy Duty Top Rail cantilever mount is designed for riflescopes with a 34 mm main tube and interfaces with a MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail. Its one-piece construction provides a 1.18 in / approximately 30 mm optic centerline height and a neutral 0 MOA cant. Each ring cap is secured by 6 screws, while 3 additional screws attach the base to the rail. The mount also incorporates an accessory rail and bubble level. It is CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished with Type III hard-coat anodizing.
The lower ring halves and base are CNC-machined as a single unit. Each ring cap is secured by 6 screws, providing 12 ring-cap screws in total, while 3 mounting screws secure the base to the Picatinny rail. The cantilever design positions the riflescope farther forward, helping the user establish the required eye relief.
The riflescope centerline sits 1.18 in / approximately 30 mm above the top surface of the mounting rail. This lower position keeps the optic closer to the firearm and reduces the overall height of the setup. Before selecting this mount, consider the external diameter of the objective bell and any controls or components protruding from the underside of the riflescope.
The manufacturer notes that the 1.18 in version may not be compatible with some Discoveryopt riflescopes. For these models, a mount with a 1.5 in centerline height is recommended. Compatibility should therefore be confirmed against the dimensions and construction of the specific riflescope before installation.
One ring cap incorporates a Picatinny rail for mounting a compatible accessory. An integrated bubble level allows the shooter to monitor rifle cant. This is particularly relevant during precision shooting at extended distances, where cant can cause a horizontal shift in the point of impact.
The mount has a neutral 0 MOA cant and does not introduce an additional elevation angle intended to extend the riflescope's usable adjustment range at longer distances. The manufacturer specifies resistance to shock loads of at least 1,000 G.
The mount is CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum alloy and protected by a Type III hard-coat anodized finish. This surface treatment improves resistance to wear, scratches, and corrosion. The ring interiors are precision-machined, with manufacturer-specified coaxiality of ≤ 0.01 mm/m.
