How Power Dry^® Technology Works

Polartec^® Power Dry^® features a patented bi-component knit construction. The inner surface is optimized to quickly wick moisture away from the skin, while the outer surface is designed to disperse and accelerate evaporation.

As a result:

FR materials are engineered to reduce ignition potential, slow flame spread, and self-extinguish once the ignition source is removed. They are not non-combustible, but rather designed with limited flammability characteristics to enhance user safety.

The FR variant is commonly used in workwear and tactical apparel where both moisture management and increased flame resistance are required.
