The Discoveryopt ED PRS Gen II 5–25×56 SFIR FFP-Z MRAD is a precision riflescope designed for medium- to long-range shooting. It combines a 5–25× magnification range, 56 mm objective lens, extra-low dispersion glass, a first focal plane reticle, and MRAD-based adjustments. The elevation turret features a Zero Stop mechanism, while the 34 mm main tube provides 36 MRAD of total elevation travel. Side parallax adjustment is available from 25 yd to infinity.
The reticle is located in the first focal plane, meaning its apparent size changes in proportion to the selected magnification. Its MRAD subtensions therefore remain accurate throughout the entire 5–25× magnification range. The Christmas tree-style holdover grid provides reference points for elevation and windage holds without requiring every correction to be dialed on the turrets. The center section features red illumination with 6 brightness settings.
The elevation turret incorporates a Zero Stop mechanism that creates a mechanical stop at the established zero. After dialing an elevation correction, the turret can be returned quickly to the original zero without counting complete revolutions.
Each elevation and windage click equals 0.1 MRAD, corresponding to 1 cm at 100 m. The riflescope provides 36 MRAD of total elevation travel and 17 MRAD of total windage travel.
The optical system uses extra-low dispersion glass to reduce chromatic aberration and help maintain image contrast at higher magnification settings. The 56 mm objective lens is paired with an exit pupil ranging from 11.2 mm at 5× to 2.2 mm at 25×. Eye relief measures approximately 87 mm at 5× and 85 mm at 25×.
The 5–25× magnification range allows the shooter to transition from a broader view of the target area to detailed target observation and precise aiming at extended distances. The field of view ranges from 7.5 to 1.5 m at 100 yd, equivalent to approximately 8.2 to 1.6 m at 100 m.
A side-focus dial provides parallax adjustment from 25 yd, or approximately 23 m, to infinity. This allows the image and reticle to be focused for the target distance while minimizing apparent reticle movement caused by parallax.
The riflescope features a 34 mm main tube, measures 415 mm in overall length, and weighs 1,260 g. The objective bell has an external diameter of 67 mm. Nitrogen purging helps prevent internal fogging, while the IP67 rating provides dust-tight protection and resistance to temporary immersion in water. The manufacturer rates this model for recoil up to .50 BMG.
The package includes the riflescope, sunshade, lens caps, cleaning cloth, lens-cleaning pen, user manual, 2 specification cards, scope-leveling kit, and warranty and final inspection card. Scope rings are not included. Select a compatible 34 mm mount with sufficient height to provide clearance for the 67 mm objective bell.
