The Discoveryopt cantilever scope mount is designed for riflescopes with a 30 mm main tube and interfaces with a MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail. Its one-piece construction provides a 1.5 in / 38.1 mm optic centerline height and a neutral 0 MOA cant. The cantilever design positions the riflescope farther forward while keeping the base secured to the firearm's mounting rail. The mount is CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished with Type III hard-coat anodizing.
The lower ring halves and base are CNC-machined as a single unit. The cantilever configuration positions the rings ahead of the base attachment point, allowing the riflescope to be mounted farther forward to establish the required eye relief. This is particularly useful on firearms with limited usable space on the upper mounting rail.
The riflescope centerline sits 1.5 in / 38.1 mm above the top surface of the mounting rail. The mount has a neutral 0 MOA cant and does not introduce an elevation angle between the optic and rail. When selecting a mount, consider the firearm's configuration, objective bell dimensions, required clearance, and the desired head position behind the optic.
The mount is CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum alloy and protected by a Type III hard-coat anodized finish. This surface treatment improves resistance to wear, scratches, and corrosion. Precision-machined ring interiors help distribute clamping pressure evenly across the riflescope tube. The manufacturer specifies coaxiality of ≤ 0.01 mm/m and resistance to shock loads of at least 1,000 G.
Each ring cap is secured by 4 Torx screws, providing 8 ring-cap screws in total. Three additional screws attach the base to the mounting rail. The specified torque values are marked on the mount: 20 in-lb / approximately 2.3 Nm for the ring-cap screws and 30 in-lb / approximately 3.4 Nm for the base mounting screws. Always follow the markings on the specific mount during installation.
