The LanTac® A2 Gen2 BMD® (Blast Mitigation Device) allows the Dragon® muzzle brake inside to perform at full capacity while channeling blast and concussion forward. Smart porting maintains recoil and muzzle-rise control, while shockwaves are redirected away from the shooter and those nearby. The result is greater comfort and stable sight picture—especially in team or range environments.
Unlike conventional blast shields, the Gen2 BMD® does not compromise brake performance. Through-ports connect the brake’s top vents with the outside environment, so recoil reduction and muzzle control remain fully effective while the diffuser contains blast.
The device projects pressure waves forward, toward the target, reducing concussion and side blast. This improves shooter comfort and protects others in close proximity. Radial teeth at the muzzle further diffuse gases for smoother operation.
Machined from 4140CMV steel and finished with a QPQ nitride coating, the A2 Gen2 BMD® withstands high heat, wear, and corrosion. Its compact design ensures long life under demanding use.
The BMD® attaches via the A2 adapter and locks with a rotational ring. The package includes a crush washer and installation instructions. Once installed, the system offers simple, secure, and repeatable mounting.
The A2 Gen2 BMD® is designed exclusively for selected LanTac Dragon® muzzle brakes in 5.56/.223, 9 mm (several versions), and AK47. Other Dragon® variants require their own adapters. It is not compatible with GemTech or SilencerCo systems.
Produced in the USA with LanTac’s focus on precision and performance. Each piece is built to meet the demands of professional shooters and rigorous field conditions.
