The M4 model is a semi-automatic shotgun manufactured by a legendary Italian firearms producer, Benelli. The semi-automatic shotgun M4 T-Pro 18.5" is thus the fourth and final model in the Benelli Super 90 series of semi-automatic shotguns. The M4 operates with a gas-operated system, named ARGO (Auto Regulating Gas Operated system) by Benelli, which was designed in 1998 specifically for the M4 semi-automatic shotgun.
On May 4, 1998, the United States Army's research and development center (ARDEC) at Picatinny Arsenal in New Jersey issued a requirement for a new semi-automatic shotgun, 12 ga gauge, for the U.S. armed forces. In response to this requirement, Benelli designed and introduced the Benelli M4 Super 90 shotgun. After intensive army testing, the M4 shotgun won the competition. Apart from the U.S. armed forces, this semi-automatic shotgun is also in use worldwide by law enforcement agencies in countries like Italy and the United Kingdom.
Benelli. That's all a shooter needs to hear when it comes to shotguns. The brand name has been synonymous with craftsmanship and precision of the highest quality for many years. Shooters who are held to high standards, whether in sport, hunting or protection, expect their tools to be of the highest possible quality. And that is exactly what the Benelli M4 T-Pro 18.5" semi-automatic shotgun is. A robust, practical shotgun specially designed for guaranteed shooter comfort and quick use.
Testing of the military version of the M4 shotgun indicates a high level of reliability. The weapon operates flawlessly for a minimum of 25,000 shots without needing to replace key components due to wear. The steel parts of the weapon are black phosphated and have a corrosion-resistant surface. The aluminum parts are anodized. All these construction details ensure that the Benelli M4 T-Pro 18.5" semi-automatic shotgun requires minimal maintenance and operates in all climatic and weather conditions.
Thanks to the telescopic stock specially developed for the M4 shotgun, you can simply and quickly adjust the weapon's length with the press of a button and by sliding the stock in or out. The stock is made of glass fiber-reinforced technopolymer.
The weapon is also equipped with Benelli's innovative gas system, which is accurate, durable and reliable. ARGO stands for Auto Regulating Gas Operated system. The A.R.G.O. system is located under the barrel near the chamber, allowing it to use the higher pressure and hot gases from the shooting. A special regulating valve then releases the excess pressure from the shooting.
