Busch PROtective® BAM-1 Ballistic Mandible Guard

The Busch PROtective BAM-1 Ballistic Mandible Guard is designed to provide additional ballistic protection for the lower face and jaw in high-risk operational environments. Combining lightweight construction, ballistic performance, and rapid attachment capability, the BAM-1 integrates with compatible Busch PROtective helmets equipped with CMR-1 rails. Its modular design allows the guard to be installed or removed within seconds as mission requirements change.

Additional Ballistic Protection for the Lower Face

The BAM-1 extends ballistic coverage to the jaw and lower facial area. According to the manufacturer, it is rated to withstand penetration from a 9 mm DM41 projectile traveling at 425 ±10 m/s. It is intended for users who require increased facial protection beyond that provided by a ballistic helmet or visor alone.

Lightweight Design

Weighing approximately 280 grams, the BAM-1 adds minimal additional load to the helmet system. Its low weight helps reduce fatigue during extended wear while maintaining mobility and operational effectiveness.
